https://95896improvements.com/  As suggested by Bill Sullivan, avoid I95 at 273 and 896. Construction has begun and is a nightmare. Even 72 south of Newark is one lane under the I95 overpass. Find the backroads to travel.
District Grant for 2023-24 – Submitted
Utilizing resources with Mandela Fellows from 2022, we  submitted a district grant application to supply menstrual kits to young ladies in Nigeria, with Doris, Evelyn, and Robin leading the project.  Doris  has already made contact with one Fellow, identified a local Rotary club to assist, and has one physician Rotarian to help with the project. Many young girls are not attending school one week per month because they do not have menstrual supplies.
Ladies of NMRC project highlighted
The project conducted by the Ladies of Newark Morning Rotary, to supply 100 girls with hygiene kits, has been highlighted by DG Cliff in his District 7630 weekly message. Since then other clubs have reached out to see how they can replicate the project in their areas. And it was highlighted on the Zone 33-34 Empowering Girls Initiative Zoom Meeting on Wednesday The recorded session is now available for all RI zones to view. Who knew we could be an inspiration to other clubs around the globe!
Phillies Game, Anyone?
Let’s revive an old club tradition of attending the Phillies’ Strike Out Hunger Night on Aug. 8. See Marie Holliday to add your name to the list for tickets and potential bus ride.
IMPACT Club
We’re ready to charter! We have our initial 8 required members but could always use more. Do you know someone who is service minded but can’t attend our regular Rotary meetings? Give their name and contact info to Paul Keely for an invitation to join.
Annual Installation and Awards Dinner
Our annual dinner is scheduled for Thursday, June 22.  Dinner 6 p.m. in our usual meeting room. Spouses, guests and family are invited. We will have the installation of officers for 2023-2024 and presentation of annual awards. A signup sheet will be circulated tomorrow for number who will be attending. Or Robin will pest you via email for your attendance.
Mandela Fellows Dinner NEXT week
We will also host the 25 Mandela Fellows of 2023 for dinner on Thursday June 29, 6 p.m. Let’s have a good showing for this dinner. Signup will be circulated. Again, family and guests are invited.
Help Needed!
Until we have a vice president nominated, a member who will help coordinate the chairs for monthly speakers is needed. Please see Robin if you are willing to help. Also, if you have potential speakers for July 13 and 20, please let Robin know.

Thought for the Week:

What do a dull pencil and a bad joke have in common?

Neither of them have a point.
