About Rotary International
Rotary was founded in 1905, in Chicago, by Paul Harris as an organization to provide professionals with fellowship and networking opportunities. In 1907, they performed their first community service project. By 1917, clubs stretched from New York to San Francisco. By 1921, Rotary clubs had formed in 6 continents .

Rotary International is an administrative body that provides support services to the clubs. Each club maintains a large degree of autonomy.
The Rotary Foundation is our philanthropy arm. The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
