All club meetings will be conducted via Zoom until further notice. Please contact Robin at rbroomall@usa.net if you did not receive the Zoom link for this week’s meeting. Please do not share our Zoom meeting link with anyone unless you want them specifically invited to the meeting.

Happy/Crappy Dollars? We are still accepting them weekly, but you need to keep track of them and pay up when we meet again in person. Remember the Four Way Test???

2021 Report to Community – at the printer! Expect to arrive in a few weeks….

Newark PAL project nears fruition.

The Traveling PAL project is nearing completion of its final stages. Soon to have its “wrapping” done, and get all supplies installed, the trailer will be ready for its unveiling in just a few weeks. When the trailer starts going to city neighborhoods, we will be invited to attend and spend time interacting with the kids, playing games, reading books, and doing arts and crafts. This is a great opportunity for each of us to interact as positive role models with youngsters and support our police. What started as a project with Newark Area Welfare Committee purchasing the trailer at about $10,000 and our club suppling the interior items at about $6,500, turned out to be a collaboration between us and several other Newark area organizations, non-profits, and businesses. Many thanks to Polly Sierer for spearheading the project and getting additional support. This project was funded in part by a $5,000 district grant.

Next year’s grant application submission…

Grant Committee Chair Jerry Holt is completing the application to submit for a district grant with the project to involve Camp Fairlee, the Easterseals camp in Chestertown. We will be funding camperships, the Welcome Bags for counselors, and working at Fall and Spring cleanup days. Stay tuned….

Thought for the Week:

Life is like a helicopter. I don’t know how to operate a helicopter.
