HELP!  Monthly Program chairs needed for 2021-2022. Please respond to Anthony Santoro if you would like to chair one month of programs from November 2021 thru July 2022 (March 2022 is already taken). Contact Anthony at anthony@diamondstatephotography.com. He will have the  monthly schedule and outline of duties.

Everyone is a Leader:

Take the opportunity to sign up to chair or co-chair an activity or event for our club for the next Rotary year. Tom Minto is looking for EVERYONE to participate in leadership roles. Being a chair does  not mean you do all the work. You are just expected to coordinate the activity, solicit volunteers, oversee the activity, and report back to Tom.

Working at the Food Bank
A volunteer night at the Food Bank of Delaware will be Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. Typically we pack bags of food items for backpacks for children who have little access to nutritious meals on weekends. They receive free or reduced meals (breakfast and lunch) at school during the week then take backpacks home for the weekend. It’ s easy work for us but mighty important for the children who receive them. Go to fbd.org to log in and scroll down to find 6 p.m. on Oct. 5. You must register online in order to volunteer. If you need help, contact Jerry Holt.
Meal Packing Event
Put Saturday, Oct. 16 on your calendar to volunteer at the HUGE meal packing event. In support of our District Governor Hugh Dawkins’ Day of Service, hundreds of our fellow District 7630 Rotarians will work in 3 different locations to pack meals for those less fortunate. Unlike other meal packing events we have participated in where the meals are shipped to third-world countries, these meals will be distributed in our own region. We will work with Rotarians from our own area at the VFW Post 160 in North East, Md. Stay tuned for registration info.
Looking for Sponsors:
One way to boost our Flags For Heroes income is to secure sponsors. Polly Sierer is looking for businesses or individuals who would like to support our activities and be Flags For Heroes Sponsors at the $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, and $250 levels. Each level will be acknowledged on our website and social media,  have logo on banner at flag time, receive medallions for flags, and higher levels will receive additional ad space in our Report. See Polly if you, your business, or an acquaintance is interested.

Thought for the Week:

Law of Physical Surfaces: The chances of an open-faced jam sandwich landing face down on a floor are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet or rug.
