Report Deadline
March 12 is the deadline for reserving ad space in the 2026 Report to the Community. With a goal of $45,000, we need some new advertisers. Check your “rolodex”, hit the phones, and find at least one new advertiser. All forms and info are online at nmrde.org.  FYI, the back inside page is still available!
Bio for Report
All members: our bios in the 2026 Report to the Community will be updated to be uniform length and font to fit our 1/8 page spots. Robin will email each of you with a sample. Please respond quickly. Also, if you did not get an updated photo taken, let her know or submit a jpg to her.
Jan. 31 – Meal Packing Event
10,000 shelf-stable meals were packed in 2 hours by about 30 Rotarians and Newark Charter Interact students and staff. What great workers we had! Everyoine moved quickly and carefully to pack rice-soy fortified meals, and very little was left on the floor! Packers, weighers, sealers, and sorters worked to help end hunger through the Rise Against Hunger movement. Thank you for helping!
Food Insecurity Locally
As part of our Distict Grant addressing Food Insecurity Locally, we will be purchasing $2400 of canned meat products for the Dream Center to include in their food distribution program. Additionally we will be volunteering to help pack food cartons at a later date. Stay tuned. We will have a report of the work our Food Insecurity committee has been conducting.
Troll Toll News!
We’re excited about our new twist on our traditional fines! At our first meeting in February, anyone who is wearing any Rotary pin will get a ticket toward the monthly Troll Toll drawing.  Anyone  NOT wearing a pin will owe a $2 Troll Toll. That does NOT include wearing a pin on your lanyard. It must be worn on your clothing.
Nominations Now Being Accepted
Our club has always been successful in having a long line of succession of leadership. Some clubs do not have a president elect until right before the new Rotary year begins in July. The Nomination committee (Robin, Shawn, and Don) are now accepting nominations for 2nd. vice president in 2026-27 (becoming club president in July 2029). If you want to be considered, please see Robin for more info.
New Invoicing Process
Watch for your 2nd quarter invoice to come from Clinton via email. Invoices will no longer be handed out nor snail mailed. Please pay promptly via credit card on Strike on nmrde.org or give your check to Robin or Clinton. If you did not receive your invoice earlier in December, please let Clinton know.
