Sept. 26, 2024 The Magic of Rotary!
We’re trying to improve Zoom presentation!
- If you are attending via Zoom, during the mealtime go into the Breakout Room and you will still be able to converse with others on Zoom. When meal is over, come back to the main room.
- If you have a speaker who wants to present a Power Point or other screen, please have the material sent to Bill Sullivan 24 hours ahead of the meeting. He will then have the presentation ready to share

Stars and Strides Signup
Clinton has a goal – 40 members of Newark Morning team to support the Bloom Energy Stars and Strides 5k on Saturday, Nov. 9. To register go to:
https://runsignup.com/RaceGroups/136117/Groups/1623608 and click on <team signup> . Have your family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers join us for a fun family-themed event. Starts at 8 a.m. with race beginning at 9 a.m. You do not have to be a runner to join us. Walkers (and literally walkers and wheelchairs, baby strollers) are welcomed. The event supports veterans and youth.
Food Bank Volunteers STILL Needed
Sign up now to join other members at the Food Bank on Oct. 1, 6-8 p.m. We typically fill backpacks for students or boxes for community pickup. Lots of fun while doing a valuable service for our community. You must register for the Oct. 1 date. Jerry Holt specifically registered us for a Tuesday evening on the request of our club members.
Dictionaries Ready to go!
Fred Dawson sent out the dictionary list of volunteers. Make some third graders very happy and schedule schools for distribution.
Sponsorship of Flags now available
Don’t wait till November. Talk up sponsorship of our Flags For Heroes now so your COMPANY name or YOUR name can be on a Heroes medallion. So far we have raised more than $1 million to support veteran, military, and youth programs just by sponsorships of flags. This year we have a new level of Stars and Stripes Sponsor for $10,000. See Cindi for a flyer. Our goal this year is $30,000.
Think out of the box!
Creative thinking and hidden talents will make our Silent Auction at the World’s Greatest Meal (Wednesday, Oct. 30) a huge amount of fun. Every member is encouraged to donate SOMETHING. We welcome gift baskets, handmade items, gift cards to local businesses. If you think you a not talented, get you kids to help you with something creative. Nothing will be too stupid – all in great fun – and will contribute to helping wipe out polio. All proceeds for the evening will go to The Rotary Foundation’s PolioPlus program.
Reservoir Park Cleanup
Jamie and Dan are now coordinating the cleanup at the Reservoir park and trail. The first pickup will be Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Sign up now!
URGENT Sign up for Rotary Direct NOW
Beginning in the new Rotary year, all NMRC members are asked to make their Rotary Foundation contributions directly to TRF via Rotary Direct. Instructions will be provided. After June, contributions will no longer be invoiced by our treasurer. This will get your money to TRF faster, get your tax recognition faster, enable you to manage your contributions, and free up the responsibility from our treasurer. Specific instructions will becoming.
