Christmas in September?
Not in July, not in December. We are celebrating Christmas in September on the 12th, in our regular meeting time. Holiday music and fun, and THE most important reason is to raise funds to support the Boys and Girls Club in Rosehill. Rather than wait until the holiday season is upon us, and Stu Sherman needs to order gifts for the kids before then, we will have a silent auction to support the kids. If you have an item to donate for the silent auction, please notify Laurie Williams. What we really need are bidders! You can’t raise funds if you don’t have eager bidders. So let’s think of the little kids and make this a Ho Ho Ho event.
Don’t know what the Boys and Girls Club means to many kids? Just ask Clinton.
Flag For Heroes – in full operation!
Remember the success of last year’s Flags For Heroes event? Clinton’s goal for this year is even greater – $30,000! That means we need sponsors and individual flags sold. Reach out to your business, vendors, friends and neighbors with the opportunity to participate. Many locals say they didn’t know about the flags until reading about it in the Newark Post until IT WAS OVER! They were disappointed the flags were down. Let’s make them aware earlier this year. Cindi and Clinton have printed flyers or get one on our website nmrde.org. Just remember what we were able to do with the proceeds – support our veterans, first responders, and youth programs. The Chair of Honor is in construction mode and will be dedicated on Sept. 18, 5:30 at the City of Newark building. .
