The Fifth Question: Will it be fun?
You never know with President Clinton what we will do next. If you see a weekly program as “??????”, it could be planned as a speaker, a service project, a Fellowship activity, a special meal, or just plain FUN. Just come and be surprised!
Clothing Needed
This week we will help fill an urgent need of mens and childrens, as well as women’s, clothing for the Clothing Bank of Friendship House/Empowerment Center. The local centers, including the Empowerment Center in Newark, support homeless, the unemployed, and those who need financial resources. Purge your closet of clean and still wearable jeans, pants, shirts, jackets, and that shirt your spouse hates seeing you wear. Bring them to Thursday’s meeting and Steve Fangman has volunteered to deliver them to the Clothing Bank in Wilmington.  Help others while helping yourself.
Welcome our newest Members!
Amanda McGinty, with the UD Resident Ensemble Players, will be a Service Member.
The Vero At Newark will be a Corporate Member. Attending on behalf of Vero will be Frank DeMarinis, BJ DiDonato, and Terri Doody.
The club extends to Linda Sayther, widow of our friend Paul,  the opportunity to join us at events and whenever she desires as an Honorary Member.
Missing Some Members?
Several of our members have requested a Leave of Absence. If you are their buddy, you still might want to keep in touch. The members currently on leave are: Kelly Bachman, Nancy Chase, Laura DelPercio, Evelyn Hayes, Marie Holliday, Michal Luck, Christina Macmillan, Leann Moore, and Anthony Santoro. Oops… last week Jason Lawhorn was listed as LOA but he is not and has been attending.
Two Interact Clubs
We will be continuing our relationship with the Global Studies program at Newark Charter High School under Jocelyn Cane as one Interact group. The Board just approved our second Interact group will be with the Global Studies program at Aspira High School under Lisa Westerfield. Let’s get more involved with them as engaged youth make future Rotarians!
Have you called your BUDDY this week? Even those on Leave of Absence could use a call to stay in touch.
