The Fifth Question: Will it be fun?
You never know with President Clinton what we will do next. If you see a weekly program as “??????”, it could be planned as a speaker, a service project, a Fellowship activity, a special meal, or just plain FUN. Just come and be surprised!
The Picnic WAS Fun!
Thank you Cindi and Jamie for arranging our annual picnic and the Courtyard for hosting. The food was great but the opportunity for fellowship was even greater. We were even introduced to our newest member Sujan’s family.
Food Bank Volunteers needed
We still need about 8 volunteers for Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Food Bank. We start at 10 and end precisely at noon, sorting and assembling non-perishables for backpacks for school children or for community boxes. If you are a Rotarian for SERVICE, this is your opportunity. Register as a volunteer at fbd.org, then signup for Saturday Oct. 8. You will be glad you did!!!
Welcome our newest Members!
Sujan Timilsina is now on board with us as our latest member. Sujan was a Rotaractor at the Katmandu Medical Center. Currently he is in biotechnology with Charles River Technologies. What a privilege to have him join us.
Be sure to introduce your self to the other new members:
Amanda McGinty, with the UD Resident Ensemble Players, will be a Service Member.
The Vero At Newark will be a Corporate Member. Attending on behalf of Vero will be Frank DeMarinis, BJ DiDonato, and Terri Doody.
Returning to our fold is Tom D’Agostino, former member and now Director of Sales for the Courtyard.
The club extends to Linda Sayther, widow of our friend Paul, the opportunity to join us at events and whenever she desires as an Honorary Member.
Flags For Heroes 2022 – Line up your Sponsors
In our first year 2018 we cleared $2,000 with about 150 flags flying, in 2019 we cleared $6,000. In 2021 we grew to 500 flags flying and had $20,000 in sponsorships. Yes, we had extra costs last year due to the purchase of about 350 additional flags. Now that we have the flags and will have little in expenses, our goal is $25,000 PROFIT. Proceeds will be going to veterans’ organizations. Visit our website www.nmrde.org for an inspiring video and info on sponsoring flags. We can’t do this alone, so ask friends and businesses to sponsor, too.
World’s Greatest Meal – Our PolioPlus Fundraiser
Only three weeks away from our annual morning meeting to support the Rotary International PolioPlus program. We will have the usual breakfast but with a slight change. All money raised that day (fines, happy dollars, 50/50) will go toward polio eradication. A Silent Auction will be held with items donated by our members being bid upon. It will NOT be held online this year so you have no idea what bargains will be displayed. This is a chance for you to donate an item and well as bid on items. (Remember only 59 days after that until Christmas!) All money you donate that day will be credited toward you for a Rotary International donation. Please see Robin with your donation item(s).
Have you called your BUDDY this week? Even those on Leave of Absence could use a call to stay in touch.
