Have you called your BUDDY this week? Even those on Leave of Absence could use a call to stay in touch.
Flags For Heroes 2022 –
Thank you to everyone who helped with the glorious display of nearly 500 flags flying proudly at the Newark Reservoir in honor of our heroes, both past and present. Sponsors of one flag or more than 50 each, they made a statement of respect, honor, appreciation and admiration. The Sunday ceremony was a bit breezy but made the display even more special. A special thanks to the committee members who spent hours making this happen.
Stars and Strides 5k raises $$ and level of Fellowship
You never would expect two of our members to participate in their first 5K but both Robin and Clinton crossed the finish line! Our team, also including Paul, BJ, Cindi, Tom, Stewart, Mike R, Doris, Ty, and Lynn (in spirit only!) walked proudly in Bloom Energy’s fundraiser for support of our veterans. We were proud to be there and look forward to next year. It was more than just a free tee-shirt!
Helping our Neighbors
Last week former Rotarians Stu Sherman and Dave Bonk asked if we were able to help sponsor the holiday gift giving and party for 150 kids at the Roseville Boys and Girls Club in New Castle. President Clinton will make $1000 of his budgeted funds available toward this project. If you personally or your business would like to sponsor any children or help with holiday shopping, let Paul Keely know.
Holiday Reception on Dec. 1
Let’s all begin the holiday season with fun and fellowship at our Holiday Reception in our usual meeting room. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar.  Family and friends are invited. Your “ticket” to the event is one NEW, UNWRAPPED toy to be delivered to Toys For Tots. And if you want to participate in some real fun – and see the competition between members – bring a gift about $10 value to be exchanged again and again with other participants. Ho Ho Ho.
Help needed for District Grant Project with Newark Area Welfare Fund – dates and times in December to be announced.

Thought for the Week:

Maybe you didn’t ask for this chapter in your story, the one that feels like a winding road with no end in sight. Yet here you are, with fortitude, showing up for every turn in the path. Like a river curving and carving along the edges of the banks, you are a force to be reckoned with, here to become who you were always meant to be.                          ……  by Katie  Dobrina (in Magnolia Magazine)
