We’re trying to improve Zoom presentation!

  1. If you are attending via Zoom, during the mealtime go into the Breakout Room and you will still be able to converse with others on Zoom. When meal is over, come back to the main room.
  2. If you have a speaker who wants to present a Power Point or other screen, please have the material sent to Bill Sullivan 24 hours ahead of the meeting. He will then have the presentation ready to share

Reminder: check out our Facebook page for pictures!

Award Applications ready, We need Applicants
At our annual dinner on June 19 we will honor members of the community with the Ray Civatte Community Service Award and the Public Service Award. A business will be presented the Spirit in Business Award. But we cannot recognize individuals without knowing who they might be. If you know someone who fits the description, please contact our awards chairs for applications.
Ray Civatte Community Service Award – to a non-Rotarian who has volunteered their time for the betterment of the greater Newark Community. See Amanda McGinty for application.
Public Service Award– a  non-Rotarian (police officer, EMT, fireman) who has gone above and beyond their job description to help keep us safe. See Sujan Timilsina for application.
Spirit in Business Award – to a business that does more than just watch the bottom line but dedicates itself to the betterment of society. See Bill Sullivan for application.
Vocational Award (followed by a Vocational Grant) – to a Rotarian who has used his/her skills and resources for the betterment of greater Newark. See Robin for application.
Ready for a Mystery? Cindi’s Ready!!!
Join us on a Magical Mystery Tour of the area on our way to a wonderful dinner. On Wednesday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. we will assemble at Presbyterian Church parking lot on W. Main Street (next to Newark Country Club). From there we will be given instructions to drive to a mystery
restaurant for dinner. Drivers will leave at 5 minute intervals so we can’t follow each other. Given landmarks to follow, you will arrive approximately one hour later at a restaurant for dinner. Suggestions: have a full tank of gas; have a good navigator; be prepared to pay for your dinner when there.
Cindi and Mark will have a sign up sheet.
Empowering Girls
The Ladies of Newark Morning Rotary are once again supporting our low-income and homeless girls at Glasgow High School with hygiene kits. You can go to our website nmrde.org and donate. Laurie Williams will bring posters to display in your workplace. If you don’t know what this is about, ask any of our lady members. Our full club will be submitting an application for a district grant to Empower Girls by donating hygiene kits as well as present programs to the girls at Glasgow and Aspira High School three times during the school year on Self Defense, Being Situational Aware, and Financial Literacy for Teens.
Tuesday evening the Ladies packed 100 bags for Glasgow girls for their summer security. No girl should miss out on summer fun because the family cannot afford simple necessities.
Are you registered in My Rotary?
If you have not been on the rotary.org website and registered yourself in My Rotary, please take time in the next few days to do so. If you have trouble logging in for the first time and need a password, it will be your RI number. Ask Robin if you need it. It is also at the top of your name on the mailing label for Rotary magazine. Starting in July all donations from our members to The Rotary Foundation will be made by Rotary Direct. You need to be in My Rotary to make that happen. We will have a training session in June and help you register.
