Cards and letters have impact!

Someone does read your cards and letters! Marie Holliday got a return note from one of her card recipients from Millcroft that when permitted, he would like to visit one of our meetings.Let’s keep up the goal of 5 cards or notes per member per week to continue spreading positive messages to our community. Mike Luck needs 200 more to deliver to residents at Main Towers.

And congrats to Donna Friswell’s Florida club for copying our project and getting more than 400 cards and notes to their nursing homes, too.

Award Nominations being accepted

Our club presents awards to Rotarians and non-Rotarians at our annual dinner in August (?). Please be considering who you would like to nominate for each of these categories. Nomination forms are available

Do you know someone who volunteers in Newark and really gives their heart and sole to their efforts? Submit applications to Marie Holliday.

Public Service Award: Presented to a non-Rotarian in the public service sector (fire, police, paramedic) who showed extraordinary dedication to serving our community. Submit applications to Evelyn Hayes.

Grant project for 2020-2021

The grant committee, chaired by Jerry Holt, is writing a proposal to support of the newly established Newark PAL program. In 2021 they will be getting a trailer that will travel to various playgrounds and sites around Newark, equipped with sports equipment, computers, small refrigerator, books, and giveaways for local children. Our part of the project will be to fund the equipment and giveaways.

Look for the 2020 Report!

You don’t have to wait to get your copy of the 2020 Report to the Community. It is available on our website at nmrde.org. Suggest to your advertiser that they check it out before it hits the street later this month.
