We’re trying to improve Zoom presentation!

  1. If you are attending via Zoom, during the mealtime go into the Breakout Room and you will still be able to converse with others on Zoom. When meal is over, come back to the main room.
  2. If you have a speaker who wants to present a Power Point or other screen, please have the material sent to Bill Sullivan 24 hours ahead of the meeting. He will then have the presentation ready to share

Reminder: check out our Facebook page for pictures!

Our annual installation dinner is always a lot of fun, not only do we install next year’s officers but we present the awards for community service, public service, business award, vocational award, and our Rotarian of the Year. Family members are invited. A sign up will be circulated this week. So check with your family now.
Grant application approved
Application for a district grant to Empower Girls by donating hygiene kits was submitted to the district grants committee, requesting $5,000 to help with the $8,500 project to provide hygiene kits to 500 girls in the five high schools in the Newark area as well as present programs to the girls at Glasgow and Aspira High School three times during the school year on Self Defense, Being Situational Aware, and Financial Literacy for Teens. Out of the 13 applications submitted and reviewed, only 3 were awarded the maximum $5,000. And Newark Morning was one of the lucky 3!!!!! Many thanks to those who brainstormed on the Empowering Girls initiative and provided ideas. We will begin working on the project with the first phase in September, distributing reusable aluminum water bottles to low-income and homeless students in the 5 schools. This was a specific request from school nurses. Stay tuned – your help will be needed.
Sign up for Rotary Direct
Beginning in the new Rotary year, all NMRC members are asked to make their Rotary Foundation contributions directly to TRF via Rotary Direct. Instructions will be provided. After June, contributions will no longer be invoiced by our treasurer. This will get your money to TRF faster, get your tax recognition faster, enable you to manage your contributions, and free up the responsibility from our treasurer. Specific instructions will becoming.
Mystery tour rescheduled
The Mystery tour will be rescheduled for later this summer. Stay tuned.
