Rotary International President Olayinka Babalola’s 2026-27 Presidential Message –

RI President Yinka,  a member of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Nigeria, describs how joining a Rotaract club as a teenager enlarged his perspective beyond the limited, privileged outlook he’d once had. That change in awareness came from observing the lasting impact his club had in the community, particularly from teaching people to read and write.

“As members of Rotary, we share a vision of a better future,” he said. “To make this vision a reality, we must acknowledge and unleash the change within ourselves. We must focus not only on outcomes, but on impact.”

Change and impact are not the same, he added: “Change is only the beginning. Impact is what endures.”

If you think we were not making an impact in our community, look again at pages 8 and 9 of the Report. Some join Rotary for service opportunities, some for fellowship, some just for a place to give away their money. We have it all!!!

Want good Speakers?
This Rotary year Cheryl Ernst will be coordinating the monthly coordinators for weekly programs. Please volunteer one of the next 12 months to arrange two speakers. Cheryl has the calendar with dates available. If you can’t commit for 2 speakers but have a good one available, let Cheryl know and she can fill that person in one week of the schedule.
Award Applications Available
Applications for the three special awards  we present each year are  now available. Please review each application and submit any nominees you have to the Rotarian who is the chair and named at the end. They will then review the applications with their committee, select one, and a meeting will be scheduled to present the award. Applications will be sent this week. No Rotarian is eligible for these awards but their business could be considered for the Spirit in Business award.
