Happy New Year!!!
What other organization do you know of that has a complete change in its top leadership every year on the same day – and does not skip a beat in its humanitarian work around the globe? This year’s Rotary International President-elect Shekhar Mehta encourages members to be changemakers and announced that his theme for the 2021-2022 Rotary year is Serve to Change Lives. See his story in the July issue of Rotarian magazine.
Congratulations, Madame President!
We welcome Joyce Henderson as out newest president of NMRC!
Monthly Program chairs needed for 2021-2022. Please respond to Anthony Santoro if you would like to chair one month of programs from August 2021 thru July 2022 (March 2022 is already taken). Contact Anthony at anthony@diamondstatephotography.com. He will have the monthly schedule and outline of duties.
Additional contributions to The Rotary Foundation?
If you want to make an additional contribution to TRF, or if you want to check your personal contribution history, log in to rotary.org, then click on My Rotary. Log in with your user and password. It will bring up your profile. At the top right you will see your name. Click on the arrow to the right of your name and it will bring up your contribution history. Tab at bottom left will bring up every donation made in your name. And you can sign up for direct contributions as well. First time users will use your membership number to log in. See Robin if you need help.
More money to help our neighbors
At the final Board of Directors meeting for 2020-2021, the remaining money from line 540 – Service Projects – was distributed. $1,000 will go to The Newark Partnership earmarked specifically for their project to assemble school supplies for teachers. An additional $1,000 will go to Hope Dining Room to help serve lunches to our needy residents. Hope Dining is located in Kingswood Methodist Church in Brookside.
Upcoming Projects need Leaders:
Watch for the opportunity to sign up to chair or co-chair an activity or event for our club for the next Rotary year. Tom Minto is looking for EVERYONE to participate in leadership roles. Being a chair does not mean you do all the work. You are just expected to coordinate the activity, solicit volunteers, oversee the activity, and report back to Tom.

Thought for the Week:
I’m getting tired of being part of a major historical event.
At least the Brood X cicadas are gone for another 17 years.
