Have you called your BUDDY this week? Even those on Leave of Absence could use a call to stay in touch.
Welcome Laurie Williams, her sidekick Breeze, and Dave Bonk. Both are previous members of Christiana Rotary Club. They have submitted applications for membership and will be voted upon at today’s Board meeting.
Helping our Younger Neighbors
At an earlier meeting former Rotarians Stu Sherman and Dave Bonk asked if we were able to help sponsor the holiday gift giving and party for 150 kids at the Roseville Boys and Girls Club in New Castle. President Clinton will make $1000 of his budgeted funds available toward this project. Our members have stepped up to more than match that amount with pledges of more than $1,200. Way to go, Rotarians!
20 new toys going to Toys For Tots
Thank you to the members who donated new toys for needy children. They were delivered to the Toys For Tots collection site at Bloom Energy. If you didn’t get to donate, there is still time to drop off a NEW UNWRAPPED toy at Bloom or give to Ty Jones. Ho Ho Ho.
Ring that bell with gusto!
Please see Marie Holliday to sign up for a shift at Boscov’s to ring the bell for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. Dates are Monday thru Wednesday, Dec. 12, 13, and 14.
Help needed for District Grant Project with Newark Area Welfare Fund
Volunteers can register times they can help with the Holiday Food Boxes through Newark Area Welfare Fund. This is our club’s District Grant project for the year, with our purchasing $6,250 in food items and grocery store gift cards for the needy neighbors. Now we need to step up and doing the hands-on part. Please set aside some time to help. Jerry Holt’s message sent last week has the link to register.
And when you are there volunteering, please take pictures of Rotarians in action and send to Bill Sullivan and Jerry Holt. Jerry  will need them to submit our Final Report on the grant project.
