Weekly Bulletin Dec. 3, 2020

December 3, 2020 Rotary Opens Opportunities!
All club meetings will be conducted via Zoom until further notice. Please contact Robin at rbroomall@usa.net if you did not receive the Zoom link for this week’s meeting. Please do not share our Zoom meeting link with anyone unless you want them specifically invited to the meeting.

New Zoom practice going into play – in order to keep better control of those who want to give Happy Dollars, and keep us from talking over each other, “Raise Hand” will be put into use. Click on “participants” at bottom middle of your screen, click on “more” and your will see “Raise hand”. Click on this when you want to be recognized. Then click on “Lower hand” when done. The host will call on you to speak. Otherwise, please mute yourself while others speak.

Happy/Crappy Dollars? We are still accepting them weekly, but you need to keep track of them and pay up when we meet again in person. Remember the Four Way Test???

Keep the cards and notes coming!

Keep writing those cards and notes of inspiration for our senior community and get to Laura DelPercio. Paul Keely still has note cards specially printed for your use.

If you have not done so already, please return the World’s Greatest Meal form to Robin ASAP so we can tally the final contributions for the day. Even if you did not bid on an auction item, please consider making an additional contribution. Also, your 50/50 bids should be included.

Checks Delivered!

In the past few weeks checks were mailed or delivered to Food Bank ($1,000); Newark Area Welfare Committee ($3,000); Autism Delaware ($1,000); Special Olympics Delaware ($1,000), and Boy Scout Troop 603 ($1,000). These were all budgeted items and made available by profits of the 2020 Report to the Community.

In addition, Robin and her “IT Department” filled and delivered to the Newark Senior Center 50 Birthday Boxes to be distributed to clients of Meals on Wheels on their birthdays. Hopefully we will have an in-meeting service opportunity to fill the next round of boxes in the Spring. So far we have filled about 300 boxes in the past two years.

Sean’s House Contribution

Last meeting we heard from Chris Locke and the opening of Sean’s House for youngsters and young persons seeking information and help about suicide and depression. In June our club did make a contribution of $875 to the foundation.
