Weekly Bulletin Dec. 1, 2022

Dec. 1, 2022    IMAGINE Rotary!
Reminder: check out our Facebook page for pictures!
Have you called your BUDDY this week? Even those on Leave of Absence could use a call to stay in touch.
Welcome Laurie Williams and her sidekick Breeze! They have submitted application for membership.
Flags For Heroes 2022 –
They’re down and stored safely at Bayshore Moving and Transportation for another year. Many thanks to everyone who helped in one way or another with this project. We brought in more than $21,000 with very few expenses. And with any luck next year, the project can be even more profitable and less labor intensive (i.e. those holes will be easier to find)!
Helping our Neighbors
At an earlier meeting former Rotarians Stu Sherman and Dave Bonk asked if we were able to help sponsor the holiday gift giving and party for 150 kids at the Roseville Boys and Girls Club in New Castle. President Clinton will make $1000 of his budgeted funds available toward this project. Our members have stepped up to more than match that amount with pledges of more than $1,200. Way to go, Rotarians!
Holiday Reception on Dec. 1
Let’s all begin the holiday season with fun and fellowship at our Holiday Reception in our usual meeting room. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar.  Family and friends are invited. Your “ticket” to the event is one NEW, UNWRAPPED toy to be delivered to Toys For Tots. And if you want to participate in some real fun – and see the competition between members – bring a wrapped gift about $10 value to be exchanged again and again with other participants. Ho Ho Ho.
Ring that bell with gusto!
Please see Marie Holliday to sign up for a shift at Boscov’s to ring the bell for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. Dates are Monday thru Wednesday, Dec. 12, 13, and 14.
Help needed for District Grant Project with Newark Area Welfare Fund
A special email will be sent for volunteers to register times they can help with the Holiday Food Boxes through Newark Area Welfare Fund. This is our club’s District Grant project for the year, with our purchasing $6,250 in food items and grocery store gift cards for the needy neighbors. Now we need to step up and doing the hands-on part. Please set aside some time to help.
And when you are there volunteering, please take pictures of Rotarians in action and send to Bill Sullivan and Jerry Holt. Jerry  will need them to submit our Final Report on the grant project.
