April 2, 2020  Rotary Connects the World!

We’re going High Tech! The April 2 meeting will be conducted via Zoom. starting at 7 a.m. If you did not get the link number to sign in, please let Robin know. You can join us by computer, Chromebook, tablet, or phone. No eggs will be served!

Paul Keely will lead a discussion on how we as a club can support our community through these times. If you have any suggestions, let him know before the meeting so he can include them.

If you didn’t catch this last week, here is the message from our club president:

Good day, Fellow Rotarians,

I hope you, your family, and neighbors are doing well in the “stay-at-home’ environment related to Covid-19 pandemic.

I encourage you to go to 2 links for focused and meaningful resources:  a prayer and a guide to weathering anything.

https://ctmirror.org/category/ct-viewpoints/your-owners-manual-a-psychiatrists-guide-to-weathering-anything/

Continue to follow CDC guidelines and remember by taking care of yourself you are also protecting others through “physical” distancing and avoiding “social” distancing.   Now is a good time to check in with your Rotary Buddy!

Please let me know of ways Newark Morning Rotary can be of assistance to our community now….keep in touch.    Consider Food Bank of Delaware (fdb.org), Christianacare (christianacare.org/volunteer)

Yours in Rotary service,

Evelyn

Birthday Boxes delivered!

We were supposed to pack another round of Birthday Boxes for Meals on Wheels recipients on April 19 but that darn virus had other ideas. Never fear,  30 were packed and delivered on Tuesday.

Camp Fairlee Summer Camp?

Easter Seals summer camp is in a “wait and hold” pattern for the moment. It will be weeks before they know if camp will be held or postponed. If they do get open, we will be packing 40 Welcome bags again for the counselors. Stay tuned.

Outstanding invoice?

Do not let your quarterly invoice go unpaid. Either get a check to treasurer Shawn or go to www.NMRDE.org and pay via credit card.

If you want to have your contribution made directly to The Rotary Foundation by credit card (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually) and not have it included on your quarterly club invoice, go to www.rotarydirect.org to sign up. Easy…..
