April 4, 2019      Be An Inspiration!

March 28 program:

Soap, toothpaste, bug spray and other items of importance were packed this morning in 40 bags for summer counselors at Camp Fairlee. Many thanks to everyone who contributed. The bags will be delivered to Camp Fairlee in the next week.

Mike Reckner tried to escape for a second cup of coffee and was caught. So he had to give his classification talk! He is a partner with Weiner Benefits Group, specializing in all aspects of employee benefits. Mike was a member of this club but left 14 years ago due to family commitments. But he is back and we are happy to have him again!

Clinton Tymes, the story teller, is a charter member of our club, He recalled his long career with UD in the Small Business Center, days of growing up in Wilmington, and mentoring the younger generation of grandkids. “It’s been a great life,” says Clinton.

Short of Goal 🙁

Good news is that we sold about $45,000 of ads for the 2019 Report to the Community. Bad news is we fell way short of last year’s amount of $56,000 and of our goal for this year. Last chance to bring in anymore potential revenue. Please make that last push!

District Conference A “Must Attend”

If you have never attended a Rotary 7630 District Conference, this year’s event is a chance for you to meet other Rotarians in our district, hear about the fabulous projects happening, and participate in a service project – all at a location convenient for us in the northern part of our district. The Chase Center in Wilmington is about as good as it can get. See the weekly Rotary Reminders for full details. It begins with dinner Friday evening, all day programs and service activity on Saturday, dinner and entertainment Saturday night, and a memorial service Sunday morning. You can register for the full package or pick and choose when you want to attend.

To register for the conference go to:

https://www.dacdb.com/index.cfm?EventID=77423738

Special Offer!

The first five members who register for the District Conference, and show their confirmation to Robin will receive $100 toward your registration. Early bird registration ends April 1. This is a bargain!!!

Nominate for Annual Awards

Please think about nominations for our four annual awards to be presented at the dinner on June 27. Applications will be available shortly.
