Parents Dr. Roy and Janie Baker
Daddy was 4F during WWII because one leg was 2" shorter than other, probably polio survivor. As Superintendent of Schools in Martin, TN he was aware of need for referees for sports. He played basketball and football in college. He refereed 4 nights a week all during war covering 50 mile radius. Mother provided referee uniforms and collected leftover ration books all over town for gas and tires for the car.
