Program for July 16
Our speaker was President Bill! He gave some of his ideas and goals for the upcoming year: being more aggressive with distribution of The Report to Community, more press releases, getting a UD Rotaract Chapter re-established, promoting membership and guests, holding new member orientation and Skype meetings, visiting other Rotary clubs, and electronic sign-ups for projects and events. But retaining our clubs personality is important, too, while having FUN! Get out your dusty musical instruments - Bill wants to start a club band!!!!!!!

Thank you, from Shelter Box

A recently received letter from ShelterBox USA thanks us for our recent $1,000 contribution. ShelterBox is a Rotary International Partner that assists families displaced by disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide, with emergency supplies such as tent shelter, stoves, blankets, water filtration systems and other tools to help them rebuild their lives after losing their homes and possessions to disasters such as earthquakes, floods, volcanos, hurricanes, tsunami, or conflict.

Another thank you, from JA

Dear Friends of JA,
This note is to say thank you to all whose participation and support for Junior Achievement during the 2014-15 academic year enabled us to serve 15,580 students across the State of Delaware and in nearby Salem and Cecil Counties….

Our club has been a huge supporter of JA since 2005 when we initiated the Rotary Center in JA’s BizTowne. Since then we have had some additional support from other Rotary clubs in our district. For our morning meeting on Thursday, Aug. 13, we will meet at JA in Wilmington and see the tremendous work they do for our students.

Paying our commitment just got easier

As members of this club, we each made a commitment to contribute a minimum of $100 per year to the annual fund of The Rotary Foundation. Most of us have paid our commitment through the quarterly invoice, which is then sent to TRF by our treasurer. To make it even easier, you can have your contribution credited to your credit card monthly, quarterly, or in one annual sum (at the time of year you want) through Rotary Direct. See Robin for a form, or enroll online at www.rotary.org.

Thought for the Week:

Not taught in any Science class: The Law of Probability: The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act.

Can’t make our meeting?

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

All Rotarians are welcomed to attend another club’s meeting. Be prepared to pay for your meal and bring the makeup slip back to our secretary for attendance and invoice credit.
