Program for March 26
Club assemblies are for in-house discussions, announcements, and just plain catching up on stuff! And after a hefty collection of Happy Dollars, the members had a chance to express their desires on whether or not we should continue to support several of the programs we have been doing for several years. Green and red Postits gave everyone a clear picture of our desires. Not surprising, there were a few activities that were clearly not winners in our book. Polly Sierer and the Membership Committee will review the results and share with the Project Manager, Mike Laur for next year’s list of activities.

THIRD QUARTER INVOICES NOW OVERDUE !

Our first Interact Club!

It’s official. The charter ceremony for Newark Charter High School Interact Club was held on Tuesday morning. Officers were inducted and pinned and then they had the opportunity to pin their fellow classmates. They are an energetic group of young leaders in the making and have several plans for service projects. Before class ended teacher Lisa Westerfield had a treat for them. Can you image the sugar high they were on after a huge piece of Bing’s cake and large scoop of ice cream at 9 a.m.?

Board actions

Actions taken at last week’s Board meeting:

  • $100 approved for Lancaster Sunrise Rotary Club to sponsor their Bike ride for Literacy (Mel Carlton’s club)
  • $100 sponsor for Christiana Club’s golf outing.

Did you chair a project?

If you chaired a project or club event, please complete a detail form for Project Manager Mike Laur. Mike is hoping to complete every project so we will have accurate details for future chairs of the projects to follow.

Wanna be a Paul Harris Fellow?

If you want to show your Rotary support and become a Paul Harris Fellow or move to the next level, see Foundation chair Fred Dawson. He can tell you how close you are to a PHF and what it would take to reach that milestone.

Thought for the Week:

I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I bet on any given Friday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than with Kay

Can’t make our meeting?

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

All Rotarians are welcomed to attend another club’s meeting. Be prepared to pay for your meal and bring the makeup slip back to our secretary for attendance and invoice credit.
