Program for March 12
Oops! We had no program – the speaker was ill, and we talked too long. So we just had out annual club photo taken.

Program for March 19
Since1992, First State Community Loan Fund provides loans and access to capital for small businesses, community organizations, and developers of affordable housing. According to director Van Hampton, 60% of their funds are directed to minority and under-served and 40% goes to all other applicants. The focus is on applicants with non-traditional start-ups, collateral shortfall, low credit scores, and equity and down payment shortfall. Our own Clinton Tymes heads their technical assistant services, including training, counseling and business growth planning.

THIRD QUARTER INVOICES NOW DUE!

Our first Interact Club!

It’s been a few years in the making, but our Interact Club at Newark Charter High School is now official! A charter ceremony will be held Tuesday, March 31, from 8:30 – 9 a.m. President Paul will say a few words, present their charter, and induct the first officers. Any Rotarians who can attend are welcomed to come. NCH is off Elkton Road. Turn left at the light across from Dunkin Donuts, very near the Maryland State line. Then you will see the school on the right. If you are coming, please be prompt. Time is limited to just the 30 minutes before they change classes.

No Money, No Ad in 2015 Report

Because there were (and still are) so many outstanding payments for ads in the last Report to the Community, a new rule is in place: If money for an ad is not received by April 15, the ad will not be published. Please start your sales opportunities early so we do not have to disappoint anyone when the 2015 Report hits the newsstands at the end of May.

Did you chair a project?

If you chaired a project or club event, please complete a detail form for Project Manager Mike Laur. Mike is hoping to complete every project so we will have accurate details for future chairs of the projects to follow.

Wanna be a Paul Harris Fellow?

If you want to show your Rotary support and become a Paul Harris Fellow or move to the next level, see Foundation chair Fred Dawson. He can tell you how close you are to a PHF and what it would take to reach that milestone.

Thought for the Week:

Bad decisions make good stories!

Can’t make our meeting?

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

All Rotarians are welcomed to attend another club’s meeting. Be prepared to pay for your meal and bring the makeup slip back to our secretary for attendance and invoice credit.
