Program for Jan. 8
Why are we here? Each member seems to have a different reason, but according to the membership survey conducted last Fall, the majority agree that community involvement and service are important to them. Most also agree we have the right blend between local and international service. But we are split on the personal need to be a member for business networking, international service, focus on the youth, opportunities to meet other Rotarians and leadership opportunities. Many thanks to Polly Sierer for chairing the committee, Evelyn Hayes for compiling the results, and Kevin Thomas for the Power Point presentation. The Membership Committee will take all the results and suggestions to begin working in January on building membership and strengthening our club. Copy of their presentation is being sent electronically to all members.

As per our club’s By-Laws, election of officers for the coming Rotary year was held last week. This year’s nominating committee of Fred Dawson, Mike Laur, Clinton Tymes, and Robin Broomall put forth the following names for nomination, were seconded and approved by the general membership. Treasurer Shawn Klapinsky

Do you have RED blood?

Then you might be just the person the Blood Bank is looking for. Besides the District’s Blood Drive challenge between our clubs, this time of year is critical for needing blood donors. If you need someone to hold your hand or take your picture as proof, just call Mary Konwinski! Or if you are a regular donor, call 1-800-8-BLOOD-8 to set your appointment today!

Thought for the Week:

I’ve learned that making a living is not the same as making a life!

Can’t make our meeting?

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

All Rotarians are welcomed to attend another club’s meeting. Be prepared to pay for your meal and bring the makeup slip back to our secretary for attendance and invoice credit.
